Avenue Supermarts, the operator of DMart retail stores, reported a 2.2% year-on-year decline in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, amounting to Rs 551 crore. This decline comes despite a robust 16.8% increase in total revenue, which reached Rs 14,872 crore.
Operational Metrics
EBITDA: Stood at Rs 955 crore, with the EBITDA margin contracting to 6.4% from 7.4% a year ago.
PAT Margin: Declined to 3.7% from 4.4%.
Store Expansion: Added 28 new stores in Q4 FY25, bringing the total number of new stores for the fiscal year to 50.
Management Commentary
The company attributed the margin pressure to increased competition in the FMCG sector, rising wage costs, and ongoing investments in service improvements.
