Demat or Dematerialized Account refers to an electronic account that securely stores various financial securities (particularly shares) in an electronic format. For those who want to acquire company equities on the stock market, a Demat account is an essential element.

SEBI, or the Securities and Exchange Board of India, is in charge of demat accounts.

What is a full-service brokerage account and a discount brokerage account?

As the name implies, a full service broker provides services that go beyond the bounds of practical competence, such as investment advice, suggestions, and general portfolio management. Some of the following services, which are most common at full service brokerage firms, are less likely to be catered through a discount broker. Discount brokers often provide only a demat account to trade and invest with no additional services.

Full service demat account comes with a lot of advantages as compared to a limited-service demat account.
